2019 Critter Pic of the Day Archive

Feature graphic with an orange cat, a black cat, a tuxedo cat, and a rottweiler all looking into the camera.

Welcome to the 2019 Critter pic of the Day archive! You’re back where it all began.

Version 2.0 of the KPotD started in January when we adopted a fuzzy little ball of insanity, snot, and anger. Due to his antics, we decided to document our new family member with daily pictures and quips. As time went on, his madness grew, and we started including our other pets into the mix.

Get your YEET! on with baby Oscar and the boys!

  • KPotD #4 (2/1/2019) - Oscar has begun to show us his personality. He also doesn't respect boundaries.
  • KPotD #5 (2/2/2019) - Kitty Porn seems to be a universal truth in our house. That didn't take long.
  • KPotD #6 (2/3/2019) - It's Superb Owl Sunday (the NFL can bite me because I am not using their trademarked term). We don't have a pet Owl, but we have a ridiculously cute pet Oscar!
  • KPotD #7 (2/4/2019) - Oscar supervises a quiet work day at home.
  • KPotD #8 (2/5/2019) - Sick of the cuteness yet? Well too bad, we've got 357 to go!
  • KPotD #9: Kittens sleep a lot (2/6/2019) - Oscar the wiggy kitten spent a lot of today sleeping after a wild growth spurt.
  • KPotD #10 Throwback Thursday! (2/7/2019) - It's Throwback Thursday! Set your wayback machine to 2000 and let's party!
  • KPotD #11 (2/8/2019) - It’s FRIIIIIDAAAAAAAAY! It’s cold and my dinner just came off the burner and I am going to eat. I might add more later but just in case.. here’s a kitten pic of the day!
  • KPotD #12: The Most Interesting Kitten in the World (2/9/2019) - Oscar flexes his authority around the house. He tells Arnold to get to the chopper. When the Delorean hits 88mph, it waits for him. Once he pops, he CAN stop.
  • KPotD #13: Domestic Terrorism (2/10/2019) - Ground all outbound air traffic! We've had an incident. Domestic terrorism may be involved.
  • KPotD #14: My New Album (2/11/2019) - Oscar's squeaky vocals and my own thick, sick rhythms. It was inevitable that we'd collaborate on a new masterpiece.
  • KPotD #15: Metal Kitten (2/12/2019) - Oscar has very metal tendencies. I'm not yet sure if that's a good thing or not.
  • KPotD #16: Snuggage (2/13/2019) - Yes! Snuggage has occurred! I walked into the living room after my workout to see this going on. We figured Nutter would be the first to snug the little guy, but there was no telling how long the adjustment period would be. I was so thrilled to find them together like that, so I went [...]
  • KPotD #17: Exploration (2/14/2019) - Oscar has been exploring the house more each day and has even conquered the guest bedroom (also known as The Princess Room because of the Disney light switch plate it had when we moved in). He likes to go hide on that bed when I vacuum, probably because it’s a tall bed and I do [...]
  • KPotD #18: Meetings Bad, Lunch Good (2/15/2019) - Nobody likes Friday meetings unless food is involved. We had two this morning, and food was not involved, so our opinion was this. But then we got to have lunch with Brian, and Friday is noodle day, so our opinion changed to this. I’d say it’s been a good day.
  • KPotD #19: Saturday Snugday (2/16/2019) - Today was fairly busy with housework and kitten rampages, but we fit in some quality time for snugs. Eventually, I got off my duff and cleaned the house, and Oscar grew some more, so it was quite a productive day. More adventures tomorrow! In the meantime, enjoy some rampage footage. Editor’s note: Due to Youtube’s [...]
  • KPotD #20: Amalgamation (2/17/2019) - Oscar has increased his rampage quotient today, so we’re putting up a few pictures from yesterday while he was resting between sessions. Since we’ve had him, he’s been a strange amalgamation of all our cats. He has Wolfie’s colors, Shadow’s tuxedo pattern, and Morticia’s size while being affectionate and fangwipey like Tai. He has Stan’s [...]
  • KPotD #021: More Exploration (2/18/2019) - Oscar has conquered most of the house, but he made a new discovery today. Behold, the lampshade! That lamp was in the floor not once, but twice. We have some work to do convincing him to leave it be, but I think we’re getting there. In the meantime, I just hope he doesn’t start eyeing [...]
  • KPotD #22: Stylish Snugging (2/19/2019) - We had a busy day today. Stan has been under the weather, so he got a visit with the nice folks at our veterinary clinic. While the diagnosis was favorable, we’ve all been a bit stressed about his illness, so we’re all extra tired. Oscar showed this fatigue with his usual panache, as seen below. [...]
  • KPotD #23: Progress (2/20/2019) - Oscar has been getting more active as he acclimates and feels better, so I don’t get as many snugs as I did his first week with us. He has turned up the quality, though. In addition to sleeping across my neck and using my face as a pillow last night, he hopped into my lap [...]
  • KPotD #24: Strong Independent Kitten (2/21/2019) - Oscar seems to be forming a new habit. Rather than sleeping on me every time he stops moving, he’s started to sleep near me. Sometimes he’ll gently place a paw in my hair, sometimes he’ll flop next to my leg, and sometimes he’ll whap me in the back of the head with his tiny fuzzy [...]
  • KPotD #25: The Schedule (2/22/2019) - Oscar has started to develop a schedule. He gallops around during the day with multiple rest breaks, but he’s been pretty reliable about his evening task this week. Around 4:30 every day, he totters into the computer room and assumes the Hold Me, Woman position seen below. As you can see from the extra faceplant [...]
  • KPotD #26: Yeet the Z’s (2/23/2019) - It’s been a relatively quiet but productive day in Landisville. My morning started a hair before 5AM when I heard one of the cats coughing and hacking repeatedly. Worried that our resident elder (Nutter) had gotten sick with the Kitten Plague, I got up to check. Lo and behold, Stan, who had been feeling quite [...]
  • KPotD #27: The 7th Day (2/24/2019) - It was a quiet day of resting here. Through the entire day, everyone spent most of their time lounging around and impersonating slugs. Stan is coughing less but feeling a bit worse today. We’re pretty sure that he’s just worse for wear due to not sleeping much last night and coughing. Needless to say, we’re [...]
  • KPotD #28: Work Buddies (2/25/2019) - Today was busy on the work front, but I had two dedicated assistants to get through it all. Oscar took up residence on the back of the love seat to kick me in the head periodically, while Stan made sure he and I were both warm enough. We got a lot done. Stan is still [...]
  • KPotD #29: Rampage (2/26/2019) - Our house has become a tiny war zone. Oscar gallops through each room on his surprisingly loud kitten feet, punching everything he passes. Sometimes it’s a toy, sometimes it’s the dog, and sometimes it’s us. Lately he likes to swirl into a room like the Tasmanian Devil and stop right on top of my feet [...]
  • KPotD #30: A Month of Oscar (2/27/2019) - Here we are a whole 30 days after adopting our little tornado of beans and whiskers. He’s changed quite a bit, gaining size, energy, and confidence. Like Stan, he has little sense of self preservation, but he’s become quite good at avoiding Udo’s giant feet. He’s also become quite good at stealing our seats. Here [...]
  • KPotD #31: Workday Blues (2/28/2019) - Today was a heavy work day for me, so none of us got a whole lot of steps in. Stan is still recovering from the plague and spending every possible second draped across my legs, Udo is keeping a watchful eye on Stan, and Oscar… well, he’s busy growing, which requires a lot of sleep. [...]

  • KPotD #32: It’s Friyay! (3/1/2019) - It’s been a hectic week with quite a bit of stress, but I’m happy to report that Stan seems to be feeling much better this evening. I’ve said for years that Brian has regenerative abilities, and I was right. Behold, the happier Stan after several hours of dad snugs. Meanwhile, Oscar has been in full [...]
  • KPotD #33: Nazgûl (3/2/2019) - As he’s grown over the past month, Oscar has displayed a unique trait among my feline housemates past and present. He has the loudest sniff I have ever heard from a cat, let alone a kitten. It’s loudest when he’s looking for food, and it is impressive. Think of the scene from Fellowship of the [...]
  • KPotD #34: Milk Tops (3/3/2019) - Nutter had a penchant for milk tops when he was younger. He liked the hard caps, but his favorite were those soft plastic seals that you pull off under the twisty lid. We found hundreds of them when we were moving to Second Place. He stole them and stashed them under every piece of furniture [...]
  • KPotD #35: A Bigger Boat (3/4/2019) - Things are progressing well on the snuggles front. Oscar has snugged up with both Nutter and Stan now, and he’s even started hanging out closer to Udo. We predict snugs there too if Udo will let him, but the dog is understandably paranoid. Stan trained him well to beware a kitten sniffing his toe floof [...]
  • KPotD #36: Water Bites (3/5/2019) - Nutter has always been a bit weird about water. When he was young, he sat in the sink a lot (still does occasionally) and even got in the shower when it was running if I left the door open wide enough. He’s less inclined to get completely soaked now, but he still loves to play [...]
  • KPotD #37: Long Day (3/6/2019) - Between work, more work, and a workout, it’s been a very long day for everyone at our house. As such, this post is about to be short. A micro-post, even. Enjoy two slightly fuzzy pictures from this evening. And now we’re all going to bed. Happy Wednesday!
  • KPotD #38: A Bigger Bed (3/7/2019) - Amidst his daily rampages, Oscar likes to help us get ready in the morning. He’ll run back and forth, briefly stopping to pounce on a toy or menace the dog, trying to keep an eye on us both. This morning, he took a break and Brian found this. He had batted a bottle cap into [...]
  • KPotD #39: Betrayal (3/8/2019) - Oh Friyay, a busy end to a busy week. I had to betray Oscar’s tiny trust this afternoon and take him to get the last of his kitten shots. He was deeply unhappy with me, singing the song of his people on the way there and back. I can’t blame him; we’d been snugging happily [...]
  • KPotD #40: The Committee (3/9/2019) - Housework happened today, which always includes vacuuming. None of us are particularly fond of the vacuum, because loud, but The Committee especially disapproves of the noise and general hubbub. They had a meeting as I was finishing the house, and I came around the corner to see this. In other news, poor little Oscar is [...]
  • KPotD #41 (3/10/2019) - Short and sweet. Oscar's under the weather and we've been snuggling all day.
  • KPotD #42: Off to the V-E-T (3/11/2019) - Oscar is still having a tough time with the plague, so we hustled off to the vet this afternoon. He got a shot and some antibiotic drops, which he very much does not like. They already seem to be helping, though. He’s been moving around more and is sleeping better. We’ll update with progress tomorrow.
  • KPotD #43: Recovering (3/12/2019) - After a very rough night, Oscar is doing better. His meds are kicking in, so he’s eating, drinking, and tottering around for love-ups in between marathon sleeping sessions. He’s on the mend, but he still looks terrible, so today’s pic is from a few weeks ago. We’re so relieved to see him up and around [...]
  • KPotD #44: Better Day (3/13/2019) - Oscar has had a much better day today. He woke up hungry and fairly spry, got a huge drink with his breakfast, and played with Stan for a while before napping on mom. He settled down for some hardcore sunbathing this afternoon and a lot more sleep, which is good for him since he still [...]
  • KPotD #45: Snugs are Back (3/14/2019) - Oscar had another day of light play and good rest while I worked quietly in my favorite spot (a.k.a. the love seat). He’s taken up residence on top of the chair backs, alternating between mine and Brian’s, so he didn’t snug as much today, but when he did it was quality. He loves Brian’s beard [...]
  • KPotD #46: Murder Mittens (3/15/2019) - As he’s been feeling better, Oscar has started to morph back into Strong Independent Kitten. He’s exploring again, sleeping in different sunbeams, and spending more time doing his own thing. He decided to be a snuggle bug tonight, though, which gave Brian the opportunity to get some excellent pics of the tiny murder mittens. As [...]
  • KPotD #47: Saturday Snugs (3/16/2019) - We had a busy day of housework and errands, but took time out this afternoon for some quality snugs. Oscar has really taken to snugging Brian whenever he gets the opportunity, and it makes me squee every time. This picture has it all: adorable ork, adorable kitten, and bonus toe beans. I am undone. <3
  • KPotD #48: Artsy Sunday (3/17/2019) - Oscar decided to embrace his inner French girl this evening and pose for us in the window sill. Brian got his attention so I could get a picture without receiving a face full of pointy kitten. He’s a photogenic little monster and I love him. He’s growing bigger and cuter every day.
  • KPotD #49: Bachin’ It (3/18/2019) - Mom left us to go spend time with her elders, so we’re taking advantage of the break to get our swag on, order up some hookers and coke, and blow the roof off this place like proper bachelors. I had Oscar put on his best tux. Stan agreed to tag along as the ultimate wingman [...]
  • KPotD #50: Metal (3/19/2019) - Oscar is almost totally recovered and is feeling pretty damn metal again. He goes from snug to murder in 0.38 seconds flat. He is a completely crappy copilot, however. He damn near crashed me into a star while I was exploring in Elite: Dangerous.
  • KPotD #51: Home Again (3/20/2019) - Heather is back! I spent a great couple of days with my folks (<3) and have returned to my loving ork, frantic pupper, and lovey cats. I missed them and I’m pretty sure our metal kitten grew while I was gone. In the approximately four seconds he stopped long enough for me to hold him, [...]
  • KPotD #52: The Snug of Forgiveness (3/21/2019) - While he clearly missed me, Oscar was miffed that I left for a couple of days. He was affectionate yesterday, but less snuggy than usual. That changed today. Today he was my little shadow, following me from room to room and insisting that I pick him back up when I put him anywhere else: floor, [...]
  • KPotD #53: Bigger and Better (3/22/2019) - Oscar spent a lot of time in my vicinity today, either on my lap or on my shoulders (because he kept oozing off the top of the chair when he fell asleep). During the lap snugs especially I realized how much he’s grown. He actually takes up my entire lap now instead of just one [...]
  • KPotD #54: Sleep and Stomp (3/23/2019) - Today was a bit lazier than our usual Saturday, but we’ve had a busy week, and we still managed to get some stuff done. Laundry, nap, backyard cleanup, and tasty broccoli beef dinner all conquered. Rawr. The nap was especially notable because I awoke to find Oscar snugging Udo, but Udo moved before I realized [...]
  • KPotD #55: Productivity Rocks (3/24/2019) - Today we definitely made up for yesterday. House work done, yard work done, Phase 1 Garage Cleanup done! We even fit in an Indycar race between the house and the yard. We’re taking a quick break before dinner and I figured I’d better get this post written now because my tired is kicking in. Oscar [...]
  • KPotD #56: Brotherly Bird Watching (3/25/2019) - Brian opened our windows this weekend to welcome the brief period of cool spring weather we’ll get before summer tries to melt us all. The cats approve of the breezes. Oscar has spent a lot of the past couple of days in various windowsills, but we were happy to catch him sharing one with Stan [...]
  • KPotD #57: Snug or Slap? (3/26/2019) - Why not both? Oscar couldn’t decide this morning, so he did all of the above. At the same time. Stan was not amused. Stan loves his little brother, though. I caught him extracting a Q-tip for Oscar to play with when he thought I wasn’t looking. My heart nearly burst from the cuteness of it. [...]
  • KPotD #58: Wednesday is for Zs (3/27/2019) - Oscar rampaged around the house with his usual zeal today, but decided he needed some extra snugs from his brothers. He hopped in Stan’s current favorite cardboard box and received a bath for his troubles, so he sought a less pushy snugmate. Cue Grandpa Nutter. Later on he followed me into the exercise room to [...]
  • KPotD #59: So is Thursday (3/28/2019) - While rampages continued at an acceptable level today, the snugginess seems to have intensified. Oscar spent a larger than usual portion of the day on me instead of continuing his Strong Independent Kitten kick. Much of the time, he was being so cute I couldn’t move. He’s currently crab hopping around the living room and [...]
  • KPotD #60: Friyay! (3/29/2019) - It’s Friyay, which marks the end of a particularly snuggy week and also the two-month anniversary of Oscar coming to brighten our lives with his affection and glorious rampages. He finished the week out strong, waiting for me to sit down and hopping into my lap at every opportunity. Happy two-month adoptiversary, little guy!
  • KPotD #61: Busy Day (3/30/2019) - We’ve had a busy day of housework since the weather was not conducive to outdoor activities, and we are ready for some rest. Oscar assisted by rampaging across the house as is his duty. He then passed out on my lap. Time for some space exploration, a snack, and some Zs. It’s been a good [...]
  • KPotD #62: Dad Snugs (3/31/2019) - We all enjoyed some relaxation today. We got in a walk, a little reading, and of course, some snugs. Oscar decided to hang out with Brian a bit after lunch since he’s an equal opportunity snugger. It’s late and we’ve got a busy day tomorrow, so time for sleep!

  • KPotD #63: Dual Colanders (4/1/2019) - So Oscar has always displayed the usual feline tendency to get into things like boxes and laundry baskets, but he likes to up his game in the kitchen. You might remember him hanging out in the slow cooker a while back. Tonight he found a new receptacle while I was putting away dishes. I put [...]
  • KPotD #64: Learning to Cat (4/2/2019) - Oscar has been displaying more Strong Independent Kitten traits lately, including sleeping in spots the older cats usually take. This is new behavior for him, and I think we can thank Nutter for it. Stan is a strange feline-canine hybrid since Udo decided to raise him when we brought him home. As such, he isn’t [...]
  • KPotD #65: Headless Snugs (4/3/2019) - Oscar still gets a little crazy around food, but he’s figured out that we’re generally not interested in sharing our dinner and is cool to flop on my lap while we eat. Sometimes he goes to sleep. Sometimes his head disappears. But then it reappears! Don’t let the cute sleeping pose fool you. He recharged [...]
  • KPotD #66: Extra Lovey (4/4/2019) - The little guy has been quite attached to me today, when he’s not busy trying to ambush Stan. For example, here he is after Udo and I returned from our morning constitutional. This also happened when I came back in from walking Brian out at lunch. He even tried to get into the shower with [...]
  • KPotD #67: Friyay Fun (4/5/2019) - Oscar has been on quite a tear today with his rampant cute-itude. There were so many pics I couldn’t choose, so here they all are: Kitten Pics of the Day! I was halfway through my last bench press set this morning when suddenly, kitten! He hopped up and sat on my stomach with his head [...]
  • KPotD #68: Caturday is Best Day (4/6/2019) - We’ve had quite the busy Caturday, as we’re wont to do, because we intend to loaf like bosses tomorrow. As such, I haven’t caught any new pictures today, so here’s an extra from last week. This picture does a nice job of highlighting his neck floof and his whiskers, I think. He’s such a photogenic [...]
  • KPotD #69: Sunday Loafin’ (4/7/2019) - As planned, we didn’t really do squat today besides watch a race. It was glorious. Oscar joined in the loafing with his trademark abandon. He’s still in Strong Independent Kitten mode, though Stan might disagree given their usual proximity. I’ll happily take my snugs when I can get them!
  • KPotD #70: Snuggorama (4/8/2019) - Mondays tend to be pretty busy around here, what with grocery trips, workouts, and dog walks on top of the regular work schedule. Today we even threw in some yard work. Oscar was just not cool with us being out of the house so much, so this kept happening. I am unable to move. Send [...]
  • KPotD #71: There Goes Another One (4/9/2019) - Just when I think Oscar has run out of weird things to sit in, he finds a new one. Here is today’s offering. That is a cast iron wok (don’t worry, it was washed thoroughly). I shouldn’t be surprised given his love of sink basins, but yeah. This kitten.
  • KPotD #72: Brothers <3 (4/10/2019) - Strong Independent Kitten is turning into Strong Stan-Following Kitten day by day. We’ve been enjoying the brief spring breezes before it gets blisteringly hot, so they’re really into window time right now. Stan has even taught the little guy how to chitter at birds. When they’re resting between chitter sessions, they like to take up [...]
  • KPotD #73: Rare Snugs (4/11/2019) - In another move stolen from his big brother, Oscar hopped up on my foot rest for a rare shin snug this morning. He didn’t stay long, but I hope he keeps up the habit because it’s delightful. Stan takes up a bit more room than the little guy, but he’ll get there eventually. Yes, it’s [...]
  • KPotD #74: Less Rare Snugs (4/12/2019) - Oscar was just not interested in sleeping anywhere other than on me today. This might have something to do with the unseasonably cold weather, or maybe it’s because he loves me. Probably a bit of both. I have a hard time moving him when he cutes that much, even though he just made a liar [...]
  • KPotD #75: Chore Day (4/13/2019) - The weather delayed my usual chore list today by virtue of being freaking cold. I woke up late with all three cats draped across my carcass like warmth-seeking slugs, and then had Oscar doing his level best to make sure I did nothing but hold him. And then when I tried to get up to [...]
  • KPotD #76: Race Day (4/14/2019) - It’s Indycar season, so Sundays are often race days. This means we get to spend a couple of hours parked on our butts in front of the TV, which is something Oscar heartily approves. Before he parked his butt on me for the entire race, he joined the Nap Committee for a snug session. He’s [...]
  • KPotD #77: Night Snugs (4/15/2019) - Strong Independent Kitten was out in force today, rampaging around the house and sleeping in breezy window sills much more than snugging me or Stan… until tonight. He flopped in my lap during dinner and didn’t move until bedtime. When he finally decided to let me up, it didn’t last long. Last week he was [...]
  • KPotD #78: Moar Dad Snugs (4/16/2019) - Oscario does not like it when we go outside for yard work. He sat in the window sill squeaking at us until we came back in and accosted us for snugs the minute we sat down. He was laying between us during dinner, and then this happened. He even sleeps with affectionate abandon. What a [...]
  • KPotD #79: Mad Wednesday (4/17/2019) - Today has been a bit blargh. I woke up crabby and haven’t completely managed to get over it. Some stuff caused justifiable grumping and some stuff I’m unreasonably salty about. I’m probably just hangry. This little guy helps me feel better, though. It’s hard to stay mad with a tiny bundle of fluffy love in [...]
  • KPotD #80: Sous Chef Oscar (4/18/2019) - Brian realized today that Oscar has finally revealed his true name to us. I put our new pan on the stove, turned around for three seconds to toss the packaging, and returned to find this. When I sent the picture to Brian, he said, “That’s it, I’m changing his name to Sous.” BRILLIANT! Along with [...]
  • KPotD #81: Sharing Warms (4/19/2019) - When he’s not helping me cook, Sous Chef Oscar likes to keep me company while I work. It’s been cold here lately, so heated blanket shin snugs are king. We spend a lot of time like this, and I love it.
  • KPotD #82: Even More Warms (4/20/2019) - Guys, he’s at it again, passed out and rumpled among the fuzz balls and random bits of Nutterbutter fur. I’d like to say my shins are magic, but it’s probably the heated blanket. I don’t know how he manages to sleep like that. It’s a gift.
  • KPotD #83: Tiny Ghidorah (4/21/2019) - Oscar weathered his first bachelor weekend with flying colors, hanging out with his feline brothers while Brian, Udo, and I took a glorious camping trip. We kept an eye on him thanks to the wonders of modern technology and he seemed to have no problems, but he definitely missed us. He’s been a rolling, purring, [...]
  • KPotD #84: Turbo Snugs (4/22/2019) - The squeak snugs have increased today, which I didn’t think was possible. Oscar followed me everywhere, winding between my ankles and hopping into my lap every time I sat down. He seriously added ten minutes to my workout because I had to stop and pet him between sets. This is what I’ve been dealing with [...]
  • KPotD #85: Aggressively Cute (4/23/2019) - We had another snuggy day with hours of a lovey kitten curled up in my lap. Did I get a picture of this? Of course not. I went to find him crashed out on the bed a few minutes ago and figured I’d get a nice picture of him being cute there. Spoiler: I did [...]
  • KPotD #86: Assistant Kitten (4/24/2019) - Oscar has been on quite the rampage today. He’s still a little love bug, but also a murder bug: a tiny raging murder bug. Fortunately for me, he took time out to snuggle my head while I worked in the office this afternoon. Yep, that is his whole butt propped up by my head. His [...]
  • KPotD #87: Thursday Snugs (4/25/2019) - Oscar was extra Strong Independent Kitten today (he’s taken to crashing on the bed a lot lately), but he did make time for some snug breaks this afternoon. And then he got tired of mom working, so he slithered off the top of the chair, over my arm, and, well, this. His plan backfired, because [...]
  • KPotD #88: Friyay Zs (4/26/2019) - I managed to catch Oscar napping this afternoon in his favorite spot: my side of the bed. I would have caught him in a very cute sleeping croissant pose, but Udo came in with me and woke him up. Rude dog is rude. The resulting picture is still cute, but he looks like I feel [...]
  • KPotD #89: Super Caturday (4/27/2019) - We decided to skip chores today in favor of seeing Avengers: Endgame at the early show. The movie was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Oscario, however, did not appreciate us being gone for three hours. Massive snugs ensued, most noticeably after dinner. So much cute… And then he turned it up to eleven. Oscar [...]
  • KPotD #90: Sunday Productivity (4/28/2019) - We got the chores done today, plus some extra! Productivity felt good, and we celebrated by relaxing with our favorite streamers and devouring some sriracha chicken parm. Oscar decided to wrap himself around my head before dinner when the house finally cooled off enough for him to feel snuggy. He’s parked his little butt on [...]
  • KPotD #91: And Monday Productivity (4/29/2019) - We got lots more done today, including work and workouts! One of these days I’ll write an update post about the fitness stuff, because it has changed, as have I. A lot. Oscario has not changed much, aside from getting slightly bigger and even more fractious. Here is his favorite spot on the back of [...]
  • KPotD #92: Tornadic Tuesday (4/30/2019) - Tornadoes, terror, dung, and a cute kitten; today's post has it all.

  • KPotD #93: More Storms (5/1/2019) - We had another big round of storms this afternoon and Oscar is not a fan. He handled it the same way he handled last night’s round: on me. Things look all clear for now, though the sky is a super weird color as the sun goes down. I’ll have a face full of kitten later [...]
  • KPotD #94: Cold Boi (5/2/2019) - Oscario got cold this morning while I was out at the gym, so I set him up on my heated blanket and made him a little fort while I worked. Once he warmed up, he resumed his normal depredations and none of us were safe. All is as it should be.
  • KPotD #95: Rainy Friyay (5/3/2019) - We had a lot to do today and managed to schedule it all between rain storms (mostly, we hit some rain on the way to the gym). Oscar did his part by being regal on the back of the loveseat after dinner. He looks like he’s posing, but he was actually primed to chase Nutter [...]
  • KPotD #96: Busy Caturday (5/4/2019) - In addition to knocking out the housework, we made an impromptu field trip to buy a new microphone for Brian’s streaming setup today. It was a nice mini-adventure and I even managed to cook dinner before the stream. Oscario did not approve of us being gone, however. He ditched me to sleep on the freshly [...]
  • KPotD #97: Stream Helper (5/5/2019) - We’ve been busy today and haven’t managed to catch Oscar cooperating for a picture, so here’s one from last night. He decided to help me watch Brian’s Twitch stream in a position he hasn’t occupied since he was tiny. It started as him stealing the lid to my drink and flopping into my seat to [...]
  • KPotD #98: Tiny Guardian (5/6/2019) - Strong Independent Kitten has been hanging out on the dresser lately so he can keep an eye on the squirrels and robins sneaking about in our yard. He also eyeballs the dog from up there, which is how I managed to catch him being still long enough for a picture today. As you can see [...]
  • KPotD #99: A New Trap (5/7/2019) - Most cats are susceptible to cat traps (aka cardboard boxes), and Oscar is no exception. I think he’s actually more attracted to them than the average house feline, given the speed at which he appears in them once they’re opened. He set a new record today; in fact, I’m pretty sure he teleported into this [...]
  • KPotD #100: Nurse Oscar (5/8/2019) - I’ve been feeling under the weather today and Oscar apparently picked up on it the moment I got out of bed, because he’s been stuck to me like a snuggy little burr. Stan is usually the nurse when one of us is sickly, but I’m happy to see Oscar helping out. He definitely makes me [...]
  • KPotD #101: Night Shift (5/9/2019) - Oscar took the night shift as my feline nurse last night, so Stan filled in for him today while he was resting. I’ve been surrounded by floofy, fuzzy love all day. Seriously, all four of them have been pitching in. At this rate I should be well by morning.
  • KPotD #102: Nap Assistant (5/10/2019) - I took a little nap this evening after a full day of feeling like chicken-fried buttocks. Oscar and Udo decided to help because they’re dedicated snuggers, so I woke up with this next to my face. He had zero interest in getting up until he realized I was headed for the kitchen to make dinner. [...]
  • KPotD #103: Stream Day (5/11/2019) - Brian adjusted his streaming schedule today to account for watching one of our favorite streamers and to see how it affected the viewer count. We think it worked out very well and will see how the earlier Saturday stream goes for a while. I liked it because I got the housework knocked out early and [...]
  • KPotD #104: Racing and Snuggles (5/12/2019) - We had a more relaxed day thanks to getting the housework taken care of yesterday. That included watching an Indycar race and getting lots of kitten snuggles. Oscar was in a carry-me-around mood, so it was pretty much all snugs all the time… until it wasn’t. An epic Cray Station wigout occurred! We’re talking two [...]
  • KPotD #105: Busy Recovery (5/13/2019) - I’m still recovering from The Crud™ and we got a lot done today, including a dog walk and a cardio workout this evening, so I am absolutely beat. As always, Oscar is here to help by encouraging me to rest (i.e., hold him). He’s definitely still in the shameless sleeping stage, but he also dabbles [...]
  • KPotD #106: Brotherly Progress (5/14/2019) - Stan and Oscar have made a lot of progress in the brothers department, especially when playing. Oscar still has a lot to learn about restraint, but Stan is so much better for having a playmate. While they quasi-snug occasionally, they haven’t really engaged in a full-on cuddle puddle yet, so imagine my surprise when I [...]
  • KPotD #107: Pushing up Crazies (5/15/2019) - It’s a bit warm here today and Oscar has been on a two-day rampage. Victims include my hands (collateral damage from wild jumps into my lap), Brian’s arm (random love chomp), my lamp (knocked over not once but twice in 24 hours), Stan’s ears (wrestling damage), and all of the toys. The Cray Station is [...]
  • KPotD #108: Fort Shenanigans (5/16/2019) - Oscar managed to knock over the current cat fort (aka, heavy-duty cardboard box) sometime during the night and I didn’t get around to righting it this morning. Apparently, leaving the fort on its side was a big hit. Stanley took possession of it as I finished some work before lunch. He slept in there for [...]
  • KPotD #109: Cuddle Puddle Progress (5/17/2019) - I worked in the living room today because the breeze coming through the window was lovely, so Stanley kept me company on the loveseat. Imagine my surprise when I looked over and saw this. Both of them were completely gone. I hadn’t even heard Oscar slither into the seat with Stan; he had been sleeping [...]
  • KPotD #110: Solo Snoozing (5/18/2019) - Thanks to the line of storms that came through early this morning, the house is a lot cooler today. Oscar has resumed attaching himself to me whenever I sit long enough, but I’ve been busy all morning with housework, so I haven’t been sitting much. Having to move for me was annoying him; he’s decided [...]
  • KPotD #111: Posting Helper (5/19/2019) - We got a lot done this weekend, including an awesome stream on Saturday. Today Oscar has been keeping me company while I write some posts on my laptop. He and Stan both like to curl up between my shins, but this was Oscar’s shift. Oscar is a super effective helper because he keeps me trapped [...]
  • KPotD #112: Storm Kitten (5/20/2019) - We’ve been on high alert all day due to crazy weather conditions setting up a tornado outbreak in our area. So far, the big nasty stuff has avoided us, but conditions this evening are still a danger. Given the dicey atmosphere, our furry crew has been a bit spooked today and are therefore sticking close [...]
  • KPotD #113: Moar Dad Snugs (5/21/2019) - We’re all tired after staying up late monitoring storm carnage across the state and being ready to hide if a tornado got too friendly with our roof. Fortunately for us, we didn’t get whomped. We’re just suffering from lack of sleep (and in my case, horrid delayed onset muscle soreness because taking a week off [...]
  • KPotD #114: Work Helper (5/22/2019) - I had to do a chunk of my work from my phone today thanks to an internet outage. It was fixed pretty quickly, and in the meantime I had a fuzzy little helper who was happy to take the place of my laptop. Oscar is a big fan of lap snugs and so am I, [...]
  • KPotD #115: Spontaneous Stinkeye (5/23/2019) - Oscar was crashed out in Brian’s chair this afternoon, inverted and snoring with his tongue peeking out between his tiny fangs. I had a shot lined up and was about to score the cute of the century when Nutter made a noise, so just as I hit the camera button, Oscar awoke. Look at that [...]
  • KPotD #116: Pup Snugs (5/24/2019) - We got a ton of housework done this evening, including laundry, and my two best helpers were there to make sure I folded everything correctly. The best part: they were pretty much snugging. As if that weren’t cute enough, I got a secret bonus lap snug during dinner. I live for these secret bonus snugs. [...]
  • KPotD #117: Improved Brotherly Snugs (5/25/2019) - Today has been extremely busy and awesome because we got to spend time with the best house guests ever, so I did not get any new pics of Oscario. However, I have this gem from last night while Brian was streaming. Oscar has started spending more time sleeping independently, either in our bed or somewhere [...]
  • KPotD #118: Cray Station Snoozing (5/26/2019) - Oscar loves having company to festoon him with love and attention, but he has to take frequent rest breaks after winding around so many sets of ankles. He’s been spending more rest time in the Cray Station lately, which should lead to a lot of cute snoozing shots like this one. Obviously I need to [...]
  • KPotD #119: Cray Station Spying (5/27/2019) - True to form, Oscar has spent a large chunk of the afternoon and evening in the Cray Station. It’s been a big sleep session interspersed with occasional murder breaks (RIP pom pom), but I did catch him waking up just before dinner. He was spying on Udo to see if he needed to pop down [...]
  • KPotD #120: Trifecta (5/28/2019) - Happy Six-Month Birthday, little guy! Oscar was two months old when we got him, which was four months ago today. He’s small for his age at just under seven pounds, but he has the heart of a dragon and I adore him. He’s a tiny, fierce love machine. To celebrate his birthday/gotcha day, I was [...]
  • KPotD #121: Sweet Brother (5/29/2019) - Poor Oscar has somehow torn one of his foot pads, so he and I are off to the vet first thing in the morning. He’s still rampaging as well as he can, but he’s limping pitifully and resting more than usual, which is understandable. Being the excellent brother he is, Stan has been comforting the [...]
  • KPotD #122: Pokey Paws (5/30/2019) - It turns out Oscar’s paw injury is a puncture wound. The vet thinks Stan got a tooth or claw in there while they were tussling. He’s clean and medicated now, so he should be right as rain very soon. The little monster is already walking better and rampaging near his previous capacity. However, he is [...]
  • KPotD #123: Bag Bandit (5/31/2019) - Oscar is feeling much better today, as evidenced by his complete mastery of paper bag banditry. Stan couldn’t get a paw in because the little guy was intent on guarding his newfound fort. He didn’t even want to pose for a picture; just look at this face! The stretched-out paw was warning Stan not to [...]

  • KPotD #124: Caturday Naps (6/1/2019) - Caturday is traditionally chore day, and we’re all done now except for a last bit of laundry that’s drying. Oscar is celebrating chore completion with a nice nap. We even got the yard done yesterday in case more storms whomp us this weekend, so we are in full relax mode now. Maybe we’ll join this [...]
  • KPotD #125: Power Snugs (6/2/2019) - We managed to combine snugs and rampaging today. When we returned from taking Udo out to get food, Oscar expressed his joy by flopping in my lap and stealing my napkin. This rampage didn’t last long. We were watching an Indycar race and he passed smooth out by the second restart. This snug was ultra [...]
  • KPotD #126: Feigned Innocence (6/3/2019) - Oscar has been ridiculously cute today, snuggling and chirping at me whenever he hasn’t seen me for more than ten seconds. We made an unscheduled trip to pick up some supplies this evening and he was so happy to see us return that he sat on my feet while I cooked dinner. My heart popped [...]
  • KPotD #127: Improved Snugs (6/4/2019) - We’ve had a busy day with work and getting ready for our upcoming Indycar fun, but the feline brothers did manage to fit in some brotherly snugs. Check out this cuteness. You can see how much Oscar has grown in this picture; he actually looks like a normal cat now next to Stan. That and [...]
  • KPotD #128: Delay Mode (6/5/2019) - I spent most of the day going in and out of the house to prep for our impending Indycar adventure. Oscar does not approve of me being outside in any capacity for any length of time. I sat down for a moment this afternoon to text Brian and was instantly treated to a lap snug [...]
  • KPotD #129: Canine Company (6/6/2019) - As I mentioned in the previous kitten post, Oscar has taken to sleeping near Udo quite a lot lately. His favorite spot for it is near the front door. Udo likes to keep watch through the door and Oscar enjoys the sun patches that travel across the floor with as the day passes. Oscar is [...]
  • KPotD #130: Sunpatch Snooze (6/7/2019) - Oscar was enjoying his late afternoon sunpatch so much he didn’t get up when I flopped in the floor to take his picture. I call this one Ultra Cute with Backlight. He has a morning spot and an early afternoon spot as well, but I haven’t caught him being photo-agreeable in those yet. We’ll get [...]
  • KPotD #131: Victory Sleep (6/8/2019) - Behold, the face of a kitten who both stole dad’s chair and made mom sit still for more than five minutes. He is a sleepy, happy cat. Oscar is so cute and so affectionate. He’s a little Joy Boy like his big brothers. His personality comes out a little more each day, and I love [...]
  • KPotD #132: Forgiven (6/9/2019) - We returned from our pilgrimage to Texas Motor Speedway this morning to a surprising lack of feline punishment: no barf nowhere. All three of them were happy to see us, but Oscar was the most demonstrative. He attached himself to my ankles the second I walked in the door and he’s been laying on or [...]
  • KPotD #133: Still Forgiven (6/10/2019) - We had a busy day storing trip supplies while settling back into our routine. We even got in some exercise this evening! Oscar has remained stuck to me throughout the day and was quite happy to resume post-dinner snugs. He perked up when we decided to have some leftover trip chips. Not only does Oscar [...]
  • KPotD #134: Cuddle Puddle Progress (6/11/2019) - Oscar is still working on Stan for snugs, and Stan is still not thrilled about it because snugs often end in wrestling matches. Bitey wrestling matches. However, we’re catching them together more and more. Today’s offering is very good progress towards the winter cuddle puddles we envision. So far most of the snugs happen either [...]
  • KPotD #135: The Fuzzy Intern (6/12/2019) - Oscar kept me company today while I worked, and I’ve decided he’s so good at it he should be my intern. I’ll pay him in food and scritches. It’ll work out well. He’s spent extra time snugging me the last couple of days because I’m sick. Udo has been the same way, so they’re currently [...]
  • KPotD #136: Pre-Dinner Snugs (6/13/2019) - I received a rare pre-dinner dual snug this evening while Brian was working on his Beat Saber setup and dinner was cooking (go go gadget rice cooker and crock pot). Oscar claimed my lap and Udo had my feet firmly covered. He even came back after dinner and faceplanted into my hand for half an [...]
  • KPotD #137: Canine Company (6/14/2019) - Oscar is still trying to hang out with Udo, and Udo is still trying to keep his distance for safety because Oscar is unpredictable and pointy. They seemed content to share some sunbeam action this afternoon, but Udo was keeping an eye on the little guy just in case. I love walking into a room [...]
  • KPotD #138: Caturday Company (6/15/2019) - I finally felt well enough to tackle the housework today, so the fuzzy butthorn crew is enjoying the clean rug in the living room. This shot is a bath in progress. Stan had Oscar by the head and was washing his ears. Oscar enjoys this, but it always devolves into a wrestling match within two [...]
  • KPotD #139: Chillin (6/16/2019) - Oscario reached a new level of boneless during post-dinner lap snugs. Just look at this little nugget. We should have named him Abandon, because that’s how he does everything. Actually, that should be his middle name. His full name should be Utter Abandon Landis. Now that’s a fine pedigree name.
  • KPotD #140: This Snug (6/17/2019) - So this happened and it’s so cute I can’t even process it correctly. Oscar has been spending more time around Nutter, who generally doesn’t care, but the snugs have been tentative until… this. I’m thrilled to see how well they’re hanging out now. Earlier today, Nutter came into my office to casually sharpen his claws [...]
  • KPotD #141: Also This Snug (6/18/2019) - Oscario is really sharing the love lately. He abandoned me for the recliner to snug Stan after dinner tonight. Stan bailed immediately after I took this picture, so I’m glad Brian noticed them like that before one of them moved. Oscar is now doing his flattened dog toy impression in the chair since he has [...]
  • KPotD #142: Workout Kitten (6/19/2019) - Doing weighted calf raises with a kitten winding around your ankles is a challenge. Oscar has figured out that this isn’t optimal (because I don’t stop and pet him), so his workout support routine is now to nap in my chair. Obviously I can’t move him when he’s being this cute, so I rest on [...]
  • KPotD #143: Prevention (6/20/2019) - I got a lot done this morning, which unfortunately meant leaving the house several times. Oscar was not okay with this. I sat down to text Brian after the third trip and my lap was instantly occupied. He refused to move for over an hour. Good thing I didn’t need to go anywhere else! He [...]
  • KPotD #144: Chair Thief (6/21/2019) - I’m under the weather again (stupid stomach bug), so I slumped in my chair this evening while dinner baked and Brian hit up some Beat Saber. Oscar, being a cat, was very happy to steal Brian’s chair during this interlude. He’s growing more independent by the day, but he still stays near when I’m not [...]
  • KPotD #145: Snuggle Buddy (6/22/2019) - Oscar is feeling snuggy today, so he decided to curl up with me as I settled down to watch Brian stream this afternoon. It was a short-lived snug because he heard Stan terraforming a new cardboard box and he had to go investigate. Stan hopped out, they scrapped for a minute, and then Stan hopped [...]
  • KPotD #146: Gaming Buddy (6/23/2019) - I sat with Brian while he rampaged through World of Warcraft for a bit this evening, and Oscar decided to join us. He ended up staying for quite a while through various stages of boneless. He continues to be an affectionate heart popper in addition to the normal murderous kitten he should be at this [...]
  • KPotD #147: Brothers (6/24/2019) - We saw massive improvement on the Cuddle Puddle front this evening. Oscar hopped into Brian’s chair with Stan for a little wrestling, and then we came back to this. Stan was holding Oscar’s head in one paw and pulling him close with the other, and they were napping this way. We are most definitely in [...]
  • KPotD #148: After Dinner (6/25/2019) - Oscar kept me company after dinner because I’m not feeling great and he’s an empathetic little sweetheart. I know I’ve said this before (frequently), but I love this cat so much it’s ridiculous. He fits right into our weird little household and that makes me happy.
  • KPotD #149: Shared Snugs (6/26/2019) - The snuggle brothers decided to share the lap after dinner, which doesn’t happen very often and doesn’t last long when it does. I thoroughly enjoyed this little interlude. Oscar is very busy while he’s awake, using up every ounce of kitten energy he has until he crashes to recharge for the next round. Quiet snugs [...]
  • KPotD #150: Meeting Helpers (6/27/2019) - The snuggle brothers are back today to get me through multiple meetings and assorted braining activities. They are wildly helpful. Eventually, Oscar decided to move over and be more active with his helping. It was super effective. They’re little productivity batteries, I swear.
  • KPotD #151: Spaghetti Snugs (6/28/2019) - So Oscar loves spaghetti sauce. He’ll sit and squeak piteously at me until I let him have some, which is an upgrade over the piracy he was committing every time I turned my back on him while cooking spaghetti. He was good tonight and did not steal any, so I saved a bit for him [...]
  • KPotD #152: Streaming Help (6/29/2019) - We’re ensconced in our producer spot while Brian hosts the Saturday stream (Beat Saber, woo!) and Oscar is supervising my work while keeping an eye on the TV. It looks like he might be starting to grow into his long toes. He’s still super lanky, but I think he’s starting to fill out a bit [...]
  • KPotD #153: Sunday Snugs (6/30/2019) - Stan occupied the recliner for most of the afternoon this lazy Sunday while his brother kept me company on the loveseat. When Oscar woke up and noticed Stan was alone, he couldn’t abide it and this happened. They had been laying across the cushion all nice and spoon-like, but Stan got tired of the turbo [...]

  • KPotD #154: Evening Snugs (7/1/2019) - Oscar’s been super snuggle-bear lately in between stints of Strong Independent Kitten behavior. Naturally, I’m enjoying every second of this phase because he’ll turn into a surly, hulking teenager before we know it. Here is tonight’s offering. He cracks me up when he drapes across my lap like that. These are top-quality kitten snuggles.
  • KPotD #155: Smug Kitten (7/2/2019) - After a wicked busy day for me and a wicked napping day for Oscar, he displayed his smug face from the back of the loveseat. He’s smug because he got some steak bits as I was making dinner. He’s now passed out on the back of the couch with his big brother, who also got [...]
  • KPotD #156: Snug Chair (7/3/2019) - It’s official. Brian’s spot on the loveseat has become The Snug Chair. See the ridiculous cuddle puddle below. It makes sense. Stan loves Brian and Oscar loves them both, so his spot is a popular feline retreat. I’m just happy to have such ample opportunities for cuddle puddle photos.
  • KPotD #157: Sneaky Kitten (7/4/2019) - I decided to write the kitten post early today, so of course Oscar did his usual afternoon hide-and-seek routine to prevent me from getting a picture for it. I’ve found most of his spots by now, though. He was under the bed and not wanting to come out, so I just flopped in the floor [...]
  • KPotD #158: Chair Sharing (7/5/2019) - Oscar is generally happy to share his personal space, whether the object of his affection is interested or not. He likes to sit with me on the loveseat sometimes and will curl up next to my hip rather than on my lap. It pops my heart every time he does it. This was after dinner [...]
  • KPotD #159: Hair Sharing (7/6/2019) - Oscar has assumed his usual position for our Saturday stream (an Elite VR extravaganza!), but with additional flair. He’s got his paw resting in my hair. He looks like he was crawling across the top of the loveseat and passed out before he got to me, which is possible considering how much he rampaged across [...]
  • KPotD #160: After Dinner (7/7/2019) - Lately, after dinner has been the prime snuggle time for Oscar and his orange older brother. They’ve been taking turns today, so Nutter had the pre-dinner time slot and Oscar took the post-dinner. This position did not look remotely comfortable to us. He apparently loved it because he stayed that way for well over an [...]
  • KPotD #161: Stolen Seat (7/8/2019) - The brothers switched time slots tonight with Nutter taking the prized post-dinner snug, but then they surprised me. They teamed up while I was doing the dishes and I came back to find this. Nutter stole my seat to bathe and Oscar hopped up to help him. This is an unprecedented snug on Nutter’s part [...]
  • KPotD #162: Shoe Kitten (7/9/2019) - Since we first brought him home from the shelter, Oscar has loved Brian’s shoes. He snugs them, he wrestles with them, and he stores his toys in them. He seems especially fond of slippers for storage and wrestling. Earlier this evening, he decided he loves Brian’s sandals as well. I got up to do the [...]
  • KPotD #163: Uncooperative (7/10/2019) - While he has a talent for being cute, Oscar has an even greater talent for avoiding photographic evidence of his cuteness. I’ve figured out that he has to be distracted or asleep before I can get the really good shots, because if he sees a phone pointed at him, it’s over. Look at this little [...]
  • KPotD #164: Relax (7/11/2019) - And here we have yet another outtake in my eternal quest to get an action shot of Oscar, the Magical Photograph Avoidance Kitten. I was trying to sneak up and get him being psycho on the Cray Station, but his sixth sense kicked and in we got this instead. One day, I will get an [...]
  • KPotD #165: Ultra Relaxed (7/12/2019) - Okay, so I resorted to another ridiculous sleeping pose, but how could I not? Look at this little fruit loop! I happened to glance over as I was working and was greeted with the ultimate sleep. He looks like he’s stabbed his ear into the couch and is using it to hang on. Dignity? None. [...]
  • KPotD #166: Extra Ultra Relaxed (7/13/2019) - This is not an action shot. He was dead asleep, hanging from the couch cushion by his back legs and snoring shamelessly. I managed to catch this from my spot on the loveseat because of course he woke up and moved the second I did. I bought an inner tube with a mesh center so [...]
  • KPotD #167: Kitten Blockade (7/14/2019) - Oscar doesn’t like it when we leave the house. His new routine is to fling himself in front of the door and roll on the rug when we try to open it, and I have to say it’s super effective. He does this every morning when Brian goes to work, every afternoon when Brian goes [...]
  • KPotD #168: Head Snugging (7/15/2019) - When one of our cats lays with his head pressed against something, usually while sleeping, we refer to the event as head snugs. The object of the snug is usually a human or another cat, but with our little weirdo, it can be anything. Case in point… Oscar has provided tons of snugs since we [...]
  • KPotD #169: Window Whopping (7/16/2019) - Stan and Oscar like to spend a lot of time sunning in the front window sill in our bedroom. It’s a big window with room for both of them, so it doesn’t always result in wrestling matches, but sometimes it does. I managed to get this shot this afternoon right before a match initiated. As [...]
  • KPotD #170: Current Fort (7/17/2019) - A while back, we bought a new floor fan to cool the computer room for Brian while he’s streaming. Oscar immediately claimed the box and is still using it as his daily fort since Stan tends to hog the larger printer box. He finally let me get a shot of him being jauntily cute in [...]
  • KPotD #171: Dog Bed (7/18/2019) - Anyone who’s spent the night at our house knows that Udo loves to sleep on tile floors. He’s either on the entryway tile or the bathroom tile about 80% of the time, usually on his back with his feet splayed in undignified positions. Because of the dog’s predilection for tile, Oscar has stolen his bed. [...]
  • KPotD #172: Kissies (7/19/2019) - Oscar is terribly fond of kisses. He likes to kiss our noses and he likes when we give him little kisses on his fur because he’s ridiculously adorable. Today, Brian got a couple of example shots. So I continued because he loves it and this happened. Don’t worry, my face is still intact. It was [...]
  • KPotD #173: Dad Snugs (7/20/2019) - Between housework and work work, we had a seriously full day. As I was finishing up some last tasks before bed, Oscar decided to flop on dad for a quick snug. He loves to flop on Brian, pass out completely for a few minutes, and then jump up and run away with great purpose because [...]
  • KPotD #174: Coexistence (7/21/2019) - Nutterbutter went in for his annual buzz cut a few weeks ago and again for a dental appointment last week. He’s an old boy and didn’t have many teeth left, so the vet had to go in and remove them before they wore away and caused him more pain. He is now a toothless old [...]
  • KPotD #175: Weightlifting Kitten (7/22/2019) - Oscar loves to keep me company while I go through my weightlifting routine. Sometimes this means winding around my ankles while I’m trying to deadlift, and sometimes it means hanging out in the windowsill to watch me work. Today was the latter. Mostly. Shortly after this he decided to murder the cord to the blinds [...]
  • KPotD #176: Pre-Action Shot (7/23/2019) - Oscar and Stan were having their usual afternoon tussle, so I decided to flop in the floor with them real quick to try for some action shots. This one happened right before Oscar pounced over the box and onto Stan, who deflected his slighter bulk and bounded away. It was a short scuffle, but Udo [...]
  • KPotD #177: Paw Wash (7/24/2019) - Oscar decided to stop for a brief bath in the fort between carnage tempests and I’m never one to pass up fort pictures, so here you go. I might start referring to the printer box as The Paw Wash. Nobody said he can’t be a disco kitten.
  • KPotD #178: Bathing Beauty (7/25/2019) - It’s been busy today, so I had to go for post-dinner bathing action shots while the light was still decent. Here is the best result, which is of course not actually an action shot. And of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without a glorious outtake. Behold! He was checking on the dog to make [...]
  • KPotD #179: A Rare Dinner Snug (7/26/2019) - We don’t get as many dinner snug these days because Oscar tends to be busy or snugging Stan. While both activities provide a lot of cuteness, I’ve missed the dinner snugs, so I was thrilled to get one tonight. Between him and that lovey dog in the background, I cannot repel the adorable. They get [...]
  • KPotD #180: Early Evening Snugs (7/27/2019) - I got up early today to fit in all the housework as well as a full day on the job, so we were all feeling the need for a snug once everything was done. Nutter has been getting better every day, and we were happy to see him join in this evening. He’s back to [...]
  • KPotD #181: Oh, The Drama (7/28/2019) - Oscar does everything with dramatic flair, especially bathing. He hopped into my lap for snugs while we were reviewing video footage in the office and rolled over to swat at the dog for getting too close to us. Once rolled, he decided to just have a bath because why not. He stayed like that for [...]
  • KPotD #182: Drama Continued (7/29/2019) - Udo, Stan, Oscar, and I like to greet Brian at the door when he comes home from work. It’s a fuzzy chorus of love between Udo yodeling, Stan yelling, and Oscar snorting like the little Nazgûl he is. Oscar added extra drama today by mounting an impassioned flop-attack against the Cray Station. He looks like [...]
  • KPotD #183: Outtakes (7/30/2019) - Oh, Oscar, my little uncooperative photo subject. You keep outdoing yourself and I keep posting the results because they make me snort-laugh. How could I not? The Blep Demon was washing his chest and being cute when Udo decided to horn in because me taking pictures of Oscar means I’m not paying attention to him, [...]
  • KPotD #184: Radioactive (7/31/2019) - I was trying to get a shot of Oscar and Stan hanging out together this morning, but of course Oscar had to move. Fortunately for us, he moved to his favorite sunbeam in the bedroom floor, so I caught this. He was so engrossed in his bathing and the sunshine that he didn’t flinch when [...]

  • KPotD #185: Love Bleps (8/1/2019) - Oscar was extra lovey this evening after Brian got home. He was sharing my chair with me and using my hip as a bathing platform while pausing occasionally to make sure nobody was moving. The pauses led to a quality, if slightly blurry, blep. He’s done it again. My heart has gone pop.
  • KPotD #186: Bench Press Kitten (8/2/2019) - He’s baaaaaaaack. Oscar had gotten bored with watching me work out and was spending most mornings snoozing in his sunbeam. For some reason, he decided to assist me today and he was very dedicated about it. The bench press appears to be his favorite because he can hop up and stomp around on my stomach [...]
  • KPotD #187: Fort Flops (8/3/2019) - Oscar has been spending a lot of time in his box fort these days, which gives me extra opportunities for cute fort pics. He’s getting better about ignoring the camera, so maybe action shots are just around the corner! In the meantime, I’ll keep enjoying these sweet sleepy shots.
  • KPotD #188: Lunch Snugs (8/4/2019) - I got a rare lunch snug this afternoon when I took a short break from work to consume cerebral fuel, also known as noodles. Look at this little sweetheart. Oscar helps me recharge when things are hectic, and I love him for it. He’s still as affectionate as ever.
  • KPotD #189: Double Thieves (8/5/2019) - My chair was stolen by a pair of brigands this evening and I didn’t have the heart to take it back because, well… look at this wall of cute. It’s bad enough when Oscar gives me that face. I couldn’t take it from him and Stan. The little turkeys have figured me out.
  • KPotD #190: Double Dad Thieves (8/6/2019) - And tonight, Brian’s chair was stolen. This happens just as frequently to his chair as it does to mine, but the perpetrators were a little different this time. And boy, did they turn up the cute. Oscar looks so proud to be helping Grandpa Nutter. Normally, Nutter tolerates Oscar snugs but doesn’t actively engage, so [...]
  • KPotD #191: Solo Dad Thief (8/7/2019) - Oscar is all about keeping me company, and he’s also all about dad. When I work from the loveseat, he gets to keep me company while stealing dad’s chair, so it’s a double win as far as he’s concerned. He’s been a big help lately as I’ve been crunching on major work deadlines. His snuggy [...]
  • KPotD #192: Home at Last, a Series (8/8/2019) - We took a few days off to camp, kayak, and float around a pretty lake with the dog. He enjoyed it immensely, as did we, but the cats really missed us. Oscar really really missed us. He’s been popping my heart since we walked back in the door, and I swear he grew noticeably while [...]
  • KPotD #193: Home at Last, a Series (8/9/2019) - As if the initial flop of love wasn’t cute enough to melt steel, Oscar turned it up after we’d finished unloading from the trip. He’d been Ghidora-squeaking at me while I switched out loads of laundry, so I scooped him up and sat down with him. I wasn’t expecting him to stay, let alone drape [...]
  • KPotD #194: Home at Last, a Series (8/10/2019) - And then he turned it up again. He can be so regal when he wants to, and then he turns around and does this. I needed to get up, but he wasn’t having any. I was stuck in the chair for over an hour while he unleashed weapons-grade cute in my direction.
  • KPotD #195: Home at Last, a Series (8/11/2019) - Oscar eventually let me get up to finish the laundry and a few other chores. When I returned to my chair, he joined me and proceeded to gaze at Brian while he finished dinner. For the record, he did receive hamburger bits and cheese. I can’t resist his cute.
  • KPotD #196: Helpers (8/12/2019) - Today was extremely busy on the work front and I had Nutter nearby to maintain moral support. Oscar decided to cruise out from his usual haunt in the bedroom to join the effort. Nutter was less than thrilled at the assistance, but he tolerated it until Oscar hopped down to deal with a milk top [...]
  • KPotD #197: Dinner Snugs (8/13/2019) - Oscar has been on quite the tear with dinner snugs lately. He’s still very happy we’re home and shows it every evening. This was tonight’s episode. He had flopped on my lap while we were eating and oozed over to take up half the loveseat console too after I moved my plate. I’m glad Brian [...]
  • KPotD #198: Pizza Thief (8/14/2019) - Our smug snugger returned to a life of crime tonight as I was washing the dishes. I heard a scuffle behind me and saw this going on with the pizza boxes. He had already managed to noodle one open and snag a tiny bit of crust, which I had to let him keep out of [...]
  • KPotD #199: Heart Thief (8/15/2019) - Well, he stole my heart again. Oscar has continued the dinner through post-dinner snugs and I can’t even with how cute and affectionate he is. Between this and the way he sleeps against my back every night, I couldn’t love the little turkey any more than I do. He makes my heart happy even when [...]
  • KPotD #200: New Fort (8/16/2019) - I made chicken tacos tonight, which require the food processor, so Oscar discovered a new fort when I got into the cabinet. He was super serious about exploring it and did not appreciate me horning in for photo attempts, hence the blurry glare action shot. He remained in his new fort for quite a while, [...]
  • KPotD #201: Saturday Snugs (8/17/2019) - The chores are done, laundry is almost done, lunch is consumed, and we’re setting up to enjoy a great afternoon Beat Saber stream. Oscar is ready to offer his support for the cause. Snugging support is excellent support, so I’m happy to have it. There’s no way I could resist as it is.
  • KPotD #202: Sunday Slugs (8/18/2019) - Today was our relax day after getting so much done yesterday, when we did chores, did laundry, and made a trip out to acquire a weight rack and some more weights for my Iron Temple (aka new power cage). Oscar did his best slug impressions with us, but also managed a couple of almost-action-shots. He [...]
  • KPotD #203: Sleepy Support (8/19/2019) - Oscar came in to help me lift weights this morning, as he often does because he’s my moral support kitty. This session was a bit different, though. He hopped up on the bed and went right to sleep instead of winding around my ankles for 20 minutes first. Naturally, I had to document the change. [...]
  • KPotD #204: Judge Kitten (8/20/2019) - I got the usual dinner snugs tonight, but Oscar abandoned me afterwards to lay on the couch and peer disapprovingly at the dog. He was unimpressed with Udo’s galumphing and my photo attempts, so we both got judged. We still love him, though.
  • KPotD #205: Scrappy Bois (8/21/2019) - Stan and Oscar provided us with another almost-action-shot this evening! They were scrapping on the bed when we got home from running some errands. Stan was in the process of thumping Oscar on the noggin for jumping on him while he was trying to snooze. Oscar was distracted by the dog possibly getting pets instead [...]
  • KPotD #206: Workout Help (8/22/2019) - Oscar was back in his normal helper mode during this morning’s workout, which means he added a good 15 minutes to it by constantly squeaking at me to pick him up. He finally chilled out during rows and left me to it until the end, when he figured out I was doing crunches and had [...]
  • KPotD #207: The Bathening (8/23/2019) - We’ve been hoping for months that Udo would let Oscar hang out with him, and it finally happened. Behold! Oscar had been washing Udo’s forehead and Udo just sprawled there and let him. It was so sweet and I’m proud of them both for progressing like they have. We even have video of the last [...]
  • KPotD #208: Carcass Mode (8/24/2019) - Oscar decided to snug Brian’s foot this morning while we were enjoying our coffee and didn’t feel like moving when we needed to do chores. Here he is engaging in Carcass Mode to prevent us from getting up. It was super effective! We spent the next five minutes rubbing that fuzzy belly instead of cleaning, [...]
  • KPotD #210: Surprise Company (8/25/2019) - We got a nice bit of gaming in today, and Nutter was next to me for most of the session. Imagine my surprise when I looked over and found this. Normally, I’ll have one or the other nearby to keep an eye on me, but these chair-sharing episodes are still fairly rare. Is it an [...]
  • KPotD #211: Temple Acolyte (8/26/2019) - Oscar is getting better about assisting me in the Iron Temple. This morning he wound around my ankles once during squats as if to say, “I’m here for ya, ma,” and then went to sleep on the bed. This arrangement is pretty ideal because I get a cute support system without having to stop and [...]
  • KPotD #212: Return of Dinner Snugs (8/27/2019) - I’m happy to report that Oscar has resumed the dinner/post-dinner snug habit, and he’s resumed it with gusto. Look at this. I can’t move when he does this, so I was trapped for a couple of hours. I’m hoping it happens again. If it does, please send Coke Zero and chocolate.
  • KPotD #213: Afternoon Brothers (8/28/2019) - The boys decided to hang out together in Brian’s chair this afternoon as I was finishing up work. I couldn’t resist trying for a snuggle shot, darkness notwithstanding. Looking at that picture, you’d never think a wrestling match was imminent, but that’s how we roll in this house. Snugs to slaps in seconds flat.
  • KPotD #214: Such Love (8/29/2019) - Our entire crew was super snuggy today, both with me and each other. Maybe they can feel the weather turning and are getting ready for Autumn snugs. I’m very good with this. In the meantime, observe a first-rate cuddle puddle. It’s a wonder I get anything done around the house because I have to stop [...]
  • KPotD #215: More Love (8/30/2019) - They were at it again this evening. We’ve had thunder showers and cooler temperatures today, so it was like Round 2 of Snugathon. This time Stan was using Oscar as a pillow, which is pretty unusual. I think our hopes for winter cuddle puddles are in the bag, folks. Now we just need to progress [...]
  • KPotD #216: Resting (8/31/2019) - The boys had a busy morning avoiding the vacuum cleaner and following me around as I did other chores, so they had a communal crash this afternoon. Brian was able to take a stealth picture before anyone moved. Nutter was in my lap as this was taken, so it was indeed a group endeavor. Brian [...]

  • KPotD #217: Smug Kitten (9/1/2019) - Oscar has many middle names, and one of them is Smug because that’s his default expression when he’s laying on us. For example… Look at that face. He knows he’s in the catbird seat and he’s thoroughly enjoying it.
  • KPotD #218: This is Fine (9/2/2019) - Oscar is a bit pushy when it comes to snugging. He’s interested, so the object of his snuggles must also be interested. Any other possibility doesn’t exist. Stan has come to accept his fate in this arrangement, hence the post title. I think Stan secretly enjoys it, but I’d never tell him so. He can [...]
  • KPotD #219: This Face (9/3/2019) - While he loves to help me eat dinner every night, Oscar tends to fall asleep once the food is gone. This usually happens as shown below, with him snugged up against my shins and oozing off to one side. The cuteness is palpable. Before sitting down to eat I make sure to grab a drink [...]
  • KPotD #220: So Regal (9/4/2019) - We were a bit busy today, so I just managed to flop in the floor with Oscar and attempt some action shots. They came out blurry, as usual, but I did get this gem. He looks like he’s surveying his kingdom, which is fairly accurate. Everyone else is bigger, but none of us have his [...]
  • KPotD #221: Answering Service (9/5/2019) - Oscar volunteered to screen my calls for me and I happily agreed. Who else has a Kitten Answering Service? I might have to patent this. I think it’s super effective. Also super cute, even though he stole my chair the second I got up.
  • KPotD #222: Break Time (9/6/2019) - Oscar took a break from the answering service to have a snug and bath with Stan, who looks completely unthrilled with the attention. Oscar loves his big brother dearly. He always offers a bath before initiating a scuffle.
  • KPotD #223: Ridiculous (9/7/2019) - Oscar specializes in ridiculous poses, even more than his big brother. Our latest offering is a good example. He had been draped completely upside down and was hanging over my arm going to sleep, but he moved when he heard Brian go for the camera. I think he really can be comfortable anywhere.
  • KPotD #224: Curious (9/8/2019) - I flopped in the floor with the cats again to try for some action shots and came up with a bunch of blurs, as usual. This one was slightly less blurry, grabbed as Oscar came to investigate what I was doing in the floor. He also likes to help me work on my stretches, so [...]
  • KPotD #225: Sweetness (9/9/2019) - This isn’t an action shot, but I think it’s one of the sweetest pictures I’ve managed to take of our little guy. He had engaged in post-dinner snugs and then fell asleep on my hand. Obviously, I didn’t move for a while. When that face uses my hand for a pillow, my hand stays until [...]
  • KPotD #226: The Guardian (9/10/2019) - Oscar has upped his game when it comes to Delay Mode.™ He starts by winding around our ankles and Ghidora-squeaking until we pick him up. When that eventually fails, he runs to the door and flops on the door mat to blockade us. In this instance he was delaying Brian from going back to work [...]
  • KPotD #227: Attentive (9/11/2019) - Oscar and Udo like to keep us company during dinner; you know, in case we need help finishing our food. They were both in fine form tonight. I had already finished my plate, so they turned their attention to Brian while he finished his. Our brood is so helpful and attentive.
  • KPotD #228: Zonk (9/12/2019) - Oscar has been on quite a tear today. He rampages every day, but today has been especially energetic. He finally crashed next to me as I worked. He looks so peaceful and sweet when he’s sleeping. You’d never know he’s a vicious killer of toy mice, Q-tips, and milk tops.
  • KPotD #229: The Blep (9/13/2019) - Oscar gifted me with a rare lunchtime snug today, and included with that was a premium blep (a blep is the tongue sticking slightly out). I catch him like that often when he pauses bathing to look at something, but this is the first major sleep blep we’ve seen. He slept like that for half [...]
  • KPotD #230: The Sprawl (9/14/2019) - Today’s snug is a continuation from yesterday. After we woke him up taking pictures of the turbo blep, he pulled a big stretch-and-sprawl and went back to sleep. He often kicks me in the gut while getting comfortable during these chair snugs, but I’m still fluffy enough to avoid sustaining damage and he’s so cute [...]
  • KPotD #231: Comfort (9/15/2019) - Oscar is a master of comfort, able to relax in any location and nearly any position. Today’s example is one of his common sleeping spots, the top of the recliner. Whenever I walk in to find him sleeping, I have to stop and marvel at the many new and interesting ways in which he arranges [...]
  • KPotD #232: Watchful Snugs (9/16/2019) - Oscar manned his usual spot during dinner tonight and was keeping an eye on Brian to make sure he didn’t need any help finishing up. He’s such a helpful little guy, and so cute! We couldn’t love him more if we tried.
  • KPotD #233: Window Kitten (9/17/2019) - Oscar kept me company as I did some work at my desk this morning. I’m sure it’s because he loves me and not because a pair of squirrels was running back and forth along the fence. Okay, it was probably both. He’s an affectionate kitten, but he’s still got to flex his prey watching skills [...]
  • KPotD #234: Headless (9/18/2019) - Well, he’s hit new heights of utter abandon in his sleeping positions. Tonight, I present to you the headless kitten. He slept like this for most of the evening and seemed quite happy to do so. Petting him only produced happy squeaks and stretches. In the end, I had to slither out from under him [...]
  • KPotD #235: Foot Snugs (9/19/2019) - Oscar loves the foot rests on our love seat. Nearly every night after dinner, he curls up for a good snug on or near my feet. Today’s shot is an example of his usual foot snugs, but with secret bonus dog mlem and Cray Station Stan in the background. He’s even helping me with my [...]
  • KPotD #236: Mine (9/20/2019) - The boys were keeping me company this morning as I worked from the love seat. Stan was enjoying a good snooze while Oscar stood guard. As you can see, Oscar was not inclined to share his brother. Stan seemed quite okay with this, so we’re definitely looking good for Cuddle Puddle 2019 come winter.
  • KPotD #237: Smoosh (9/21/2019) - Oscar, like Nutterbutter, often likes to sleep with his head smooshed against something. Sometimes it’s Stan’s butt, sometimes it’s a pillow, and sometimes it’s my leg. He gets bonus cute points for hugging me at the same time. I swear this kitten makes my heart pop daily.
  • KPotD #238: Resting Mayhem (9/22/2019) - Here we see a happy kitten resting after perpetrating absolute mayhem on the wrapping paper in the living room. He was more than happy to help Brian open his birthday presents. And here we see an offended kitten glaring out the window at the loud truck that went by when I was trying to take [...]
  • KPotD #239: Cake and Crumbs (9/23/2019) - Oscar decided he likes birthday cake, specifically the icing. We let him have a tiny bit of the lemon buttercream and cake left over from yesterday. He snarfed the icing and left crumbs scattered across my chair like a trail to my legs, where he commenced the post-dinner snug. He was so happy he didn’t [...]
  • KPotD #240: The Platform (9/24/2019) - Oscar decided to join us for a lunchtime snug today and stuck around for a quick bath session before launching into his next round of mayhem. He’s especially fastidious about his toes. As it was with his predecessors, he’s decided I’m the ultimate bathing platform. And, as it also was with his predecessors, I’m okay [...]
  • KPotD #241: He Missed Us (9/25/2019) - We were out of the house for most of the day today, so Oscar wasted no time initiating the dinner snug. He’s been keeping a very close eye on us since we walked in the door. I’m pretty sure he missed us.
  • KPotD #242: Gaming Helper (9/26/2019) - Oscar often helps me when we’re gaming since I take the laptop and flop comfortably on the love seat, which means he gets one of his favorite spots: the footrest. He was happy to join me today while we played World of Warcraft. He was protecting me from Udo, who had left two of his [...]
  • KPotD #243: Sun Kitten (9/27/2019) - Oscar has combined two of his favorite activities this weekend: lounging in a sunbeam and attempting to murder my ivy plant. Seeing as how he was multitasking, I consider this an action shot. This was the first shot in the series and actually turned out the best. We’ll publish some outtakes tomorrow.
  • KPotD #244: Sunbeam Outtakes (9/28/2019) - Some of yesterday’s outtakes were so good we had to share them. I was laying in the floor half under the table to get these and I think they were worth the effort. As always, floor photo sessions are best photo sessions.
  • KPotD #245: Sharing is Caring (9/29/2019) - Oscar loves to join Stan when he’s lounging, especially in the Cray Station. Stan is never particularly enthused about this arrangement, but he continues to get better at tolerating it. They stayed like this for nearly half an hour. That’s a record for Cray Station sharing and it didn’t even devolve into a slap fight. [...]
  • KPotD #246: Fall Incoming (9/30/2019) - We have cooler weather in the forecast, so I broke out my coffee pajama pants tonight. Oscar approves. He stretched out along my leg after this and we discovered that he is now long enough to reach from my hip to my ankle. He’s come a long way from the tiny ball of fuzz that [...]

  • KPotD #247: Fuzzy Toes (10/1/2019) - Oscar was being regal on the bed this afternoon, so I decided to snap some pictures. He immediately began to bathe, because how dare I try to document his regal self, and presented me with an outstanding view of his very fuzzy toes. That is a murder mitten laying in wait for a hapless victim, [...]
  • KPotD #248: Floor Wars (10/2/2019) - After 248 days, I’ve finally managed an action shot. Oscar had begun his nightly pre-bed rampage and tried to engage Stan in his depredations. I caught this picture just as Stan reared up to smite him in the head. The Two-Foot Block move will go down in history as super cute and utterly ineffective. Stan [...]
  • KPotD #249: Sunning (10/3/2019) - Oscar hit up his favorite after-dinner sunning spot this evening, which inspired me to get a few shots because he’s extra cute when he vegetates on the window sill. He looks so much like Stan from this angle that I’d have to do a double-take if he didn’t have white toes. His brother definitely taught [...]
  • KPotD #250: Messy Eater (10/4/2019) - Like his brothers, Oscar enjoys a portion of soft food in the evenings. Unlike his brothers, he makes an unholy mess in the process while shoving his entire head into the bowl. Imagine a Hoover combined with a Cuisinart and you’ll get the idea. How he manages to fling food bits out of that bowl [...]
  • KPotD #251: Snug Bug (10/5/2019) - Oscar likes to help me do chores each Saturday, mostly to help celebrate when they’re done. I flopped for a minute to go over my shopping list after finishing with the floors and he wasted no time initiating snugs. He crashed so hard that he didn’t even wake up when I slithered out from under [...]
  • KPotD #252: Cuddle Puddle (10/6/2019) - It’s happened! We got a cuddle puddle today! It’s just a small one, but it counts because their feet were entangled. They slept like this in Brian’s chair for over an hour. It’s peak cuteness and my heart can’t take it. Cuddle season is here!
  • KPotD #253: Standoff (10/7/2019) - Oscar decided to ambush Stan while he was being regal in the sunbeam beneath the bedroom windows. My poor ivy bore the brunt of the attack, as usual, because they like to use it as a curtain for their standoffs. Stan will always outweigh him, but Oscar gives zero cares about weight ratios when it’s [...]
  • KPotD #254: Cool Weather (10/8/2019) - We’ve finally hit the tumultuous slide into cool weather this fall, and Oscar has responded by curling up on the nearest available fleece. He hasn’t slept so compactly since early spring, so it’s nice to see his inner fuzzface peeking back out. I even caught him in loaf mode yesterday, but he moved before I [...]
  • KPotD #255: Discussion (10/9/2019) - Oscar and Stan have been holding evening discussion sessions beneath the ivy these days. I suspect sunbeam positioning has a lot to do with it. These discussions usually turn into slap fights because Oscar can’t help himself, but the peaceful moments are always sweet to observe.
  • KPotD #256: Timekeeper (10/10/2019) - Today has been extra busy at work, which means I’ve had to neglect the guys a bit to get everything done. Oscar was more than ready for me to clock out and pay attention to him. Like I could possibly say no to that face. Good thing I was actually done!
  • KPotD #257: Fall Faceplanting (10/11/2019) - We had our first chilly day of the season, so all three cats have been in my immediate vicinity for a good chunk of the day. This might have something to do with my electric blanket, but I’m pretty sure they love me too. Oscar kept switching between my legs and the back of my [...]
  • KPotD #258: Saturday Sunbeams (10/12/2019) - Oscar decided to enjoy some pre-dinner sunbeams today after chores were done. The little tuft of orange in the upper right corner is Nutter’s rear end on the window sill. That spot is becoming pretty popular this fall. Those two also shared my lap this morning while I had my coffee, so I think cuddle [...]
  • KPotD #259: Cool Snuggings (10/13/2019) - The weather was gorgeous today, but still cool enough to necessitate post-dinner lap snugs. Oscar was so worn out from the day’s rampaging that he hopped in my lap and just crashed where he was. He melts my heart when he crashes like this. And he’s started sleeping between us at night again for maximum [...]
  • KPotD #260: Fishing (10/14/2019) - Stan has taken up residence on Brian’s backpack because the table is an excellent place to observe our fish tank. Oscar likes to hop up there to hassle Stan, but tonight he noticed the fish. Stan is obviously less than thrilled about this arrangement, but he hasn’t tossed Oscar off the table. Yet. Give it [...]
  • KPotD #261: Golden Eyes (10/15/2019) - Oscar was happy to share his sun beam with me this afternoon when I took a break to get some kitten pics for today. His eyes look especially golden when he lounges in afternoon beams and I think they’re gorgeous. He seems to have started growing into his bone structure, so he looks more like [...]
  • KPotD #262: Toy Thief (10/16/2019) - Oscar likes to redistribute Udo’s toys as Kitten Entertainment Devices and temporary forts from which he can ambush us all. His choice today was Udo’s favorite pull toy, affectionately known as The Innard because it looks like a rope of intestine. Udo takes this in stride and just waits for Oscar to get bored and [...]
  • KPotD #263: Grumpy Cuddles (10/17/2019) - I interrupted Oscar in a bath-snug session with Stan this morning and he was not pleased about it. Note the expression. Stan was his usual long-suffering self, but I’m glad to say it didn’t turn into a slap fight. The cuddle puddles are getting more frequent by the day!
  • KPotD #264: Departure Prevention (10/18/2019) - This is what I’m presented with any time I try to go out the front door. He especially loves to lay there in the afternoon sun, but he does this in the morning too. I call it departure prevention because, well, it’s super effective. Seriously, how am I supposed to just step over that bundle [...]
  • KPotD #265: Bench Press Kitten (10/19/2019) - Oscar has been helping me on my return to the gym this week after two months off to fix a bursitis issue. Bench Press Kitten always offers excellent moral support, and I’m glad to say the workouts went well. He’s one of the best parts of having a home gym, no doubt about it. Between [...]
  • KPotD #266: Weekend Snugs (10/20/2019) - Oscar has been adjusting well to the weather fluctuations we’ve been getting lately. He quite likes the cold mornings for snugging dad. He’s also discovered the heated bed that we got for Tai and Nutter a few years ago. Nutter spends a lot of time in it, and Stan has been using it as well, [...]
  • KPotD #267: Monday Chair Thief (10/21/2019) - I turned on my heated blanket this morning before changing out of my workout clothes so my work spot would be nice and warm. In the two minutes I was gone, Oscar noticed the warmth and stole my chair. Fortunately for me he got distracted by a sound in the kitchen and hopped up to [...]
  • KPotD #268: Ridgeback (10/22/2019) - Oscar has a unique trait among the cats I’ve known. When he’s in turbo affectionate mode, the fur along his spine forms a ridge all the way up to the top of his head and his tail puffs up. It’s like the Halloween Cat puff, except lovey. He must’ve been having snuggy dreams earlier today, [...]
  • KPotD #269: Ambush (10/23/2019) - Oscar was practicing his regal poses next to the ivy today when Stan happened to walk by. The resulting pose is a mix of regal and target acquisition. Stan was investigating the brisk breeze blowing in through the dining room window. Luckily, Oscar was distracted by a milk top on his way to the ambush [...]
  • KPotD #270: Jelly Roll (10/24/2019) - Oscar doesn’t have a particularly thick coat, so he isn’t a fan of the cold front roaring in today. I went looking for him earlier and finally found him curled up like a jelly roll in the heated bed. I’m tempted to assume a similar position under the winter blanket, seeing as I don’t have [...]
  • KPotD #271: Rainy Day Bath (10/25/2019) - Oscar can’t stand to let me get a pure snug picture if he’s awake when I catch him snugging Stan, so he opts for a quick bath. Stan usually doesn’t approve of this plan, but he was too sleepy to care today. He didn’t move a hair while Oscar washed him. Oscar stopped washing for [...]
  • KPotD #272: Saturday Snugs (10/26/2019) - Oscar joined Nutter in my lap this morning for pre-chore coffee snugs. He was less than thrilled about me busting out the camera again, but he didn’t feel like moving either. I love our weekend snugs, especially when they double up like that. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a picture of all three of [...]
  • KPotD #273: Claimed (10/27/2019) - I’ve been pretty busy with housework today, so Oscar decided to claim my chair again. Clearly, I can’t move him when he does this. And then he woke up because he heard the camera click and gave the whole room the stink eye. He’s so cute when he’s grumpy. I can’t move him then either.
  • KPotD #274: Warms (10/28/2019) - It was a chilly morning as I settled in to work, so Oscar piled on to help distribute some warmth and keep me company. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the weather change this year, so his help is definitely appreciated. He and Udo are my steadfast work buddies. I’m lucky to have them.
  • KPotD #275: Grumpmuffin (10/29/2019) - This is the coldest Halloween week we’ve had in ages. While I’m sitting here wondering if we’ll get enough trick-or-treaters to get rid of the mountain of candy I bought, Oscar is curled up on the bed in a bit of a mood. He had been a sleeping grumpmuffin, but he woke up as I [...]
  • KPotD #276: Fort Fox (10/30/2019) - Udo’s Dramatic Fox wound up in the latest box fort, so Oscar has taken possession of it. He’s quite pleased with himself for a successful heist. His celebration was short-lived, however. Stan kicked him out of the fort shortly thereafter and returned the fox to a state of contention. The dog has still not managed [...]
  • KPotD #277: Chewy (10/31/2019) - Fort Fox got relocated to clear the floor for VR boxing, so Oscar had to investigate its new position. Part of investigating is vigorously chewing on the flaps, but he stopped to give me his innocent face when I took his picture. That’s also the face he makes when he wants to be picked up, [...]

  • KPotD #278: Chompy (11/1/2019) - Oscar is indeed a chompy cat. Here we see him mauling one of his favorite victims, an empty toilet paper roll. Stan also did this as a young cat, so Oscar is carrying on a proud tradition. Our household might be a bit weird when it comes to traditions, but hey: it’s our house. We [...]
  • KPotD #279: Caturday Lunch Snugs (11/2/2019) - We took a break during chores today to have lunch and enjoy some kitten snugs. Oscar was happy to help, as always. He really likes to flop in my lap once I’ve put the vacuum away. It’s like celebratory snugs after the dreaded Hate Machine is defeated. Such a snugadon.
  • KPotD #280: Scoundrel (11/3/2019) - Oscar has been a tiny terror lately, launching into random fits of toy murder at a moment’s notice. I managed to get a picture when he stopped briefly during this morning’s rampage. Not pictured is the tiny rope toy he was murdering moments before. The toy, of course, belongs to the dog. Dog toys always [...]
  • KPotD #281: Untitled (11/4/2019) - Yes, untitled, because how do you describe this pose? Seriously? He had been rolling cutely for me, so I went to snap a picture. Then Stan walked in and distracted him, and I got this. This kitten has zero chill and zero shame. I adore him.
  • KPotD #282: Sewing (11/5/2019) - Oscar likes to rampage across the entire house when he really gets going, and nothing is safe. Not even our antique sewing machine, which caught his attention today for some mystifying reason. Nothing was moving, so I have no idea what possessed him to prairie-dog up and paw at the machine. He’s never done that [...]
  • KPotD #282: New Friend (11/6/2019) - Here’s another shot of Oscar hanging out with his new friend, the sewing machine. Note his tail on the foot paddle. He never did this stuff when the machine was in the guest bedroom, so maybe it’s a location thing, or maybe I just didn’t see it because we aren’t in there much. Either way, [...]
  • KPotD #283: Weather Snugs (11/7/2019) - The current weather could best be described as “gross,” so we’re all extra snuggy. As Oscar shows in today’s pic, it feels nice to be warm and dry. He appreciates laps and recliners more than any cat I’ve ever known, and he is not afraid to show it.
  • KPotD #284: Squirrel Surveillance (11/8/2019) - Oscar took a break from rampaging today to observe the local squirrel activity and make sure they weren’t doing anything dodgy. He then jumped into one of my houseplants and we had to have another firm discussion about why he shouldn’t do that. It’s been quite a week.
  • KPotD #285: Warm Caturday (11/9/2019) - Oscar has deemed it too warm to flop in his afternoon sun patch today, so he’s chosen a random bit of dining room floor instead. I also tried to get a good shot of his belly floof, but Udo walked over to help and I ended up with failed blurry action shots. The cute is [...]
  • KPotD #286: The Hunter (11/10/2019) - Oscar loves to hunt and sees pretty much everything as prey: bugs, leaves, Udo, and most importantly, Stan. I caught him pre-pounce as Stan was lurking on the window sill. His singular focus is impressive, as is the complete carnage he can wreak upon the household. He’s our tiny, mighty hunter.
  • KPotD #287: The Tail (11/11/2019) - Oscar has had a vendetta against his tail since we brought him home. He’s constantly attacking it with aggro chomps and power cleaning, like so. When I mentioned it to his vet, she said he’s probably just a bit compulsive and that’s how he stays busy when he’s not rampaging. I think she’s right, and [...]
  • KPotD #288: The Judge (11/12/2019) - Like all cats, Oscar excels at judging things: his food, his toys, his brothers, us. I walked into the bathroom this morning to find him sitting like a tiny, straight-faced judge on top of the wall separating the toilet from the sink area. He hopped onto my shoulder and gave me kisses after that, so [...]
  • KPotD #289: He Sits (11/13/2019) - Oscar has a lot of little qualities that make him unique. One of them is the way he likes to sit, especially when he’s working on his tail. He sits like this all the time, and it’s starting to remind me of Al Bundy. I’m just waiting for him to tell me the captain has [...]
  • KPotD #290: Sleeping Sweetie (11/14/2019) - As I was cruising through the bedroom today, I had to turn around and get my phone to capture this. He was completely gone. And then he woke up as I was going for another angle, treating me to this look. I call that one “Sleeping Surly.”
  • KPotD #291: More Sits (11/15/2019) - He did it again this morning, you guys. I don’t really know what to call this position, but I feel like it needs a name. Note the back feet pointing in opposite directions. Maybe the Jack Rabbit?
  • KPotD #292: Post-Chore Snugs (11/16/2019) - Oscar was so happy to initiate the post-chore lunch snug today that he didn’t wait for me to move the potholder I was using under my soup bowl. This very nearly turned into a dual nap, but I’ve managed to resist. For now.
  • KPotD #293: Sunday Sun (11/17/2019) - Brian caught an excellent shot of Oscar enjoying the afternoon sun by the front door earlier today. All of the cats and the dog love laying there, and they tend to rotate through the sun spots so everyone gets that one at least once. It’s a never ending cute parade.
  • KPotD #294: This Face (11/18/2019) - Oscar gives me this face many times a day. It’s his Pick Me Up face, and it’s super effective. Note how he’s sitting on my foot to prevent me from moving until I pick him up. This tactic is also super effective. I’m owned by a 9-lb ball of cuteness and parkour.
  • KPotD #295: Action Shot! (11/19/2019) - I finally caught Oscar in action, and it was a total accident. Of course. He was frittering around the front door this morning after I took out the trash and spotted what he thought was a bug on the wall. Spoiler: it was not a bug. His prey was actually a bump of texture under [...]
  • KPotD #296: Mini Loaf (11/20/2019) - Oscar has been working on his loaf form, as all kittens must, and I think he’s made a lot of progress. He has the front paw tuck down for sure. He’s really starting to look like a small adult cat rather than a kitten as he gets closer to his first birthday.
  • KPotD #297: Tiny Sentry (11/21/2019) - Oscar assumes sentry duty every morning, usually starting in the bedroom window so he can make sure the squirrels aren’t up to anything fishy. He takes this duty very seriously since he was taught by Stan, the ultimate guard cat. He’s even learned to growl at suspicious sounds, so we now have a fuzzy squad [...]
  • KPotD #298: Chilly Sentry (11/22/2019) - It’s chilly out this morning, so Oscar decided to perform his sentry duty from his favorite dresser nest. Those squirrels aren’t getting away with anything. They’ve all decided Brian’s clothes make the best nests, so the dresser has been claimed. Heaven help us if we leave a drawer open.
  • KPotD #299: New Fort (11/23/2019) - Stan showed Oscar one of his favorite hiding spots tonight and Oscar has decided it’s his new fort. He comes out to eat, snug, and rampage. That’s okay, because we all need a blanket fort.
  • KPotD #300: Sunday Coffee Sits (11/24/2019) - After a productive Saturday of housework and laundry, we’re enjoying a loaf-filled Sunday. Really, we’re baking a loaf of banana bread and loafing around the nice clean house. Not that it stays clean for long these days. Udo is blowing his coat and we live in a maelstrom of dog hair, but it’s a happy [...]
  • KPotD #301: Work Week (11/25/2019) - Oscar was back on duty this morning after a relaxing Sunday. Those squirrels need to be watched, after all. They are prone to shenanigans. We clearly felt the same way about being awake this morning. He did get to nap in the sun beams, but I suspect we’ll all go to bed earlier tonight.
  • KPotD #302: Bathing Brothers (11/26/2019) - Oscar loves his brothers, especially Stan, and he shows it by washing them as often as possible whether they like it or not. As you can see by Stan’s expression, it’s usually “not.” Stan’s a good big brother and puts up with it more than the other two. Nutter usually responds with a whap and [...]
  • KPotD #303: Busy Day (11/27/2019) - The last few weeks have been frantically busy and yesterday was no exception. Chores, work deadlines, and a sick dog were in the mix. By the time we finished dinner, Oscar and I were both worn out. I’m pretty sure I fell asleep exactly like this a couple of hours later. Fortunately, there is no [...]
  • KPotD #304: Thankful Kitten (11/28/2019) - People often say that rescue animals know they’ve been rescued and are thankful for their adopted families. Having had rescues for years, I agree and can tell Oscar is no exception. I’ve never seen a happier, snuggier kitten in my life. He takes every opportunity to show us he loves us and he makes my [...]
  • KPotD #305: Bath Blep (11/29/2019) - I caught Oscar in mid-bath with Stan, which I think counts as an action shot because look at this quality blep. Occasionally, he’ll forget what he was doing and blep like that for a couple of minutes. Tiny Oscar bleps always make my day.
  • KPotD #306: Singer Kitten (11/30/2019) - Oscar had a rousing play session around the sewing machine and dining room table this morning, so I flopped in the floor to try for some action shots. I’m pretty happy with this one. Note the milk top just in front of his toes. He stopped his rampage to inspect the sewing machine and then [...]

2019: Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec

  • KPotD #307: Sunday Snugday (12/1/2019) - My legs have become prime real estate now that the weather has gotten colder. Stan usually hogs them when I’m in the recliner, but Oscar managed to snag a snug this afternoon while we were enjoying lunch. He was doing his best bunny impression and I had to document the extra cuteness. His winter coat [...]
  • KPotD #308: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 1 (12/2/2019) - I suspect this is going to be a series. We put up the tree yesterday and hung a few sacrificial ornaments to see how big a butthorn Oscar is going to be. So far, he’s at Medium Butthorn levels, but he’s gaining confidence. Stan was a holy terror his first two Christmases, knocking off ornaments [...]
  • KPotD #309: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 2 (12/3/2019) - So far, so good. The tree is still standing with its lone ornament, probably helped by the liberal dosing of orange spray Brian treated it with yesterday afternoon. Oscar still sits under the tree and snorfles the branches, but hasn’t shown any interest in chewing on it. We’ll see how he does with more ornaments!
  • KPotD #310: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 3 (12/4/2019) - The butthorn gene is definitely strong with this one. I decorated the tree last night, and while he was slow to take interest, Oscar has definitely noticed the new temptations. In addition to investigating the ornaments within his reach (the mostly indestructible ones), he’s realized there are lights. Heaven help me if he starts to [...]
  • KPotD #311: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 4 (12/5/2019) - Today’s episode is more like Kitten vs. Tiny Christmas Tree. We always put up our little dollar store tree somewhere in the house, and the last couple of years it’s been on the dining room table. Oscar found it immediately, pulled it over once, and ignored it… until today. He chomped it and pulled it [...]
  • KPotD #312: Christmas Tree Outtake (12/6/2019) - Oscar rarely cooperates when I’m going for a kitten pic, but sometimes the outtakes are better than the shot I was chasing. In this case, I was sprawled in the floor next to the Christmas tree and he lost all interest in the tree. He had to see what I was doing instead, which involved [...]
  • KPotD #313: Power Snugs (12/7/2019) - Oscar has been practicing his long-cat poses, which he’s improved by stretching his front paws out while he’s draped over my legs. This was after he’d been watching TV with us while we ate lunch. Fellowship of the Ring was on and he was super interested in the moth that Gandalf grabs on top of [...]
  • KPotD #314: Kitten or Baby Yoda? (12/8/2019) - Oscar passed out hardcore after dinner last night and inadvertently did a fantastic Baby Yoda impression. Look at those ears! He’s so cute it’s ridiculous anyway, but he really turned it up to eleven with this one. What a perfect little fuzzbutt.
  • KPotD #315: Power Sleep (12/9/2019) - When Oscar passes out on my lap, he tends to stay a while. He’ll often sleep on my shins because I have the footrest up, and he often doesn’t wake up when I put it down, hence today’s pic. Granted, I do leave my feet up, lowering them slowly so he’ll have time to wake [...]
  • KPotD #316: The Return of Long Kitten (12/10/2019) - We’re into our holiday rewatch of the Lord of the Rings movies and Oscar is helping by providing post-dinner snugs of a stretchy variety. We also discovered last night that he now weighs 10.5 pounds because he sat on the scale as I was getting ready for bed. I’m not sure if I’m more proud [...]
  • KPotD #317: Nurse Snugs (12/11/2019) - I haven’t been feeling great, so Nurse Stanley was on the scene to make sure I was warm enough. Not one to miss his post-dinner lap time, Oscar muscled in to help and the result is what you see. Oscar was using Stan’s head for a pillow. Stan was initially unthrilled with this, but I [...]
  • KPotD #318: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 5 (12/12/2019) - Oscar is doing better than I’d hoped with the Christmas tree. He mostly leaves it alone, just perpetrating the odd drive-by ornament batting. He was under it this morning doing exactly that, so I flopped for some action shots. I think he looks extra cute lurking in a sunbeam to assault unsuspecting ornaments, but I [...]
  • KPotD #319: Kitten vs. Christmas Tree, Episode 6 (12/13/2019) - Here we have Oscar using the tree skirt as a base of operations to execute ambush attacks on Stan. It was super effective. Meanwhile, helpful dog is helpful. Udo likes to assist me with whatever I happen to be doing in the floor, whether it’s wrapping gifts, doing crunches, or taking kitten pics. He’s the [...]
  • KPotD #320: Chore Kitten (12/14/2019) - Oscar has been helping with the chores, as he does every Saturday, and is apparently worn out by the drudgery of it all. He looks pretty happy to be taking this nap, though. Christmas-time naps are best naps. And speaking of Christmas, we got his tree ornament today. We got an ornament for Udo from [...]
  • KPotD #321: The Watchman (12/15/2019) - Because he was raised by Udo, Stan basically thinks he’s a dog. He patrols the perimeter, keeps watch on the neighborhood, and guards all of us. I’ve mentioned before how he growls when someone approaches the house. Being the awesome cat that he is, he also guards his little brother. Oscar took a brief break [...]
  • KPotD #322: Stretchy Sleep (12/16/2019) - Oscar only has two sleep positions: Pillbug and Stretch Armstrong. Today’s shot is him demonstrating the latter during a lunch snug. Even Udo is amazed at how long this kitten can get. He’s coming up on a year old now, so I don’t think he’ll get much longer, but dang. He looks so small until [...]
  • KPotD #323: Christmas Pecan (12/17/2019) - Oscar was not inclined to cooperate in today’s photo shoot. I had flopped in the floor by the tree to try for more “vs.” shots, and his reaction was to head boop me and wander off. I decided to fix the tree skirt before getting up and what did I find? His favorite pecan. That [...]
  • KPotD #324: Whiskers (12/18/2019) - Oscar has always had prominent whiskers, but they’re really coming into their own as he grows. His eye whiskers are especially long and luxurious. If a feline version of Maybelline existed, I’m pretty sure Oscar would be their cover kitten.
  • KPotD #325: Modified Loaf (12/19/2019) - Oscar is still working on his loaf pose, but I think his form has come a long way. He executed a solid Modified Bed Loaf this morning. Note the tucked-in paws; those are quite important for a formal loaf, even in the modified (leaning) position. I’m pretty sure the judges would score that well. Our [...]
  • KPotD #326: Bottle Cap Thief (12/20/2019) - This is the face of a murderous little thief who steals every bottle cap I put down almost the second I put it down. He had just knocked it in the floor and was gathering energy for the final thunderous kill when I managed to attract his attention for a picture. Look at that face, [...]
  • KPotD #327: Early Morning Snugs (12/21/2019) - Oscar and Stan have taken to sleeping with us more since the weather turned colder. The cats and I were so crashed this morning that Brian was able to take a flash photo without waking any of us up. Stan was curled between my feet and Oscar managed to snug Stan while draping over me [...]
  • KPotD #328: Christmas Ham (12/22/2019) - Oscar has decided to ham it up for the holiday, especially during nap time. He’s been enjoying the weekend snugs since the previous week was a complete zoo. Brian got this shot after breakfast this morning since I was trapped beneath the fuzzy. As usual, I can’t even with this kitten. He’s so cute I’m [...]
  • KPotD #329: Chair Warmer (12/23/2019) - I had a metric ton of baking to do today, so Oscar helpfully made sure my chair stayed warm. He really is the Most Helpful Kitten in the World. Also the cutest. And possibly the weirdest. We love him so.
  • KPotD #330: Christmas Eve (12/24/2019) - Oscar and Stan are both big fans of the Christmas runner we have for the kitchen table. When they aren’t using it as a surf board, they like to lay on it like fuzzy lords of all they survey. Oscar decided to cooperate for a photo with it, which I suspect is his Christmas present [...]
  • KPotD #331: Christmas Kitten (12/25/2019) - Oscar has enjoyed his first Christmas season, from investigating the Christmas tree to stealing ornaments to playing with the fun new toys from his grandmother and aunt. Today’s action shot says all you need to know about this Christmas kitten. He’s limbered up and ready to go. Also, he’s a fuzzbutt. Merry Christmas and Happy [...]
  • KPotD #332: Boxing Day (12/26/2019) - Oscar was very happy to see us when we returned from visiting family today. He was also very happy to see our tater tots. If you’re wondering whether we gave him a piece of tater tot, the answer is yes, and more than one. It’s hard to say no to that face.
  • KPotD #333: Tater Tot Outtake (12/27/2019) - This outtake is titled Whaddaya Mean I Can’t Have Another One because Oscar was rather grumpy at me for kicking him off the tater tot train. For such a small cat, he has a big appetite. The same could be said for his expressions of outrage. He probably gets both of those traits from me. [...]
  • KPotD #334: Caturday Bonding (12/28/2019) - We had unprecedented snugs this morning during coffee sits. All three cats were snugged up in my lap with zero drama, and it was so sweet I’m pretty sure my heart popped. Nutter and Stan eventually left because Oscar likes to wash everyone when he bathes, but we had a big family snug for the [...]
  • KPotD #335: Baker’s Assistant (12/29/2019) - Brian got me a baker’s rack for Christmas to make better use of our kitchen space and provide easier access to my baking implements. I’m thrilled with it, and so are the cats. Oscar is very much a window boy, so he enjoys the backyard views along with having a new place to park his [...]
  • KPotD #336: Lurking Snugs (12/30/2019) - When I went looking for Oscar to put together today’s post he was curled up cutely on the bed with his brother. I’m always trying to get interesting angles for these pics, so I went for a lateral shot that included Stan and got this. He woke up just as I was taking the picture, [...]
  • KPotD #337: Milk Top Madness (12/31/2019) - Oscar decided to ring in the new year by going ham on his favorite milk top. The only thing he loves to murder more than a Q-tip is a good milk top. Note the crazy eyes and the latest victim between his front paws. He followed up this kill with a jaunty leap to the [...]
