Stan showed Oscar one of his favorite hiding spots tonight and Oscar has decided it’s his new fort. He comes out to eat, snug, and rampage. That’s okay, because we all need a blanket fort.

It’s chilly out this morning, so Oscar decided to perform his sentry duty from his favorite dresser nest. Those squirrels aren’t getting away with anything. They’ve all decided Brian’s clothes make the best nests, so the dresser has been claimed. Heaven help us if we leave a drawer open.

Oscar assumes sentry duty every morning, usually starting in the bedroom window so he can make sure the squirrels aren’t up to anything fishy. Oscar has been working on his loaf form, as all kittens must, and I think he’s made a lot of progress. He has the front paw tuck down for sure. He’s really starting to look like a small adult cat rather than a kitten as he gets closer to his first birthday.

Oscar gives me this face many times a day. It’s his Pick Me Up face, and it’s super effective. Note how he’s sitting on my foot to prevent me from moving until I pick him up. This tactic is also super effective. I’m owned by a 9-lb ball of cuteness and parkour.

Brian caught an excellent shot of Oscar enjoying the afternoon sun by the front door earlier today. All of the cats and the dog love laying there, and they tend to rotate through the sun spots so everyone gets that one at least once. It’s a never ending cute parade.

Oscar was so happy to initiate the post-chore lunch snug today that he didn’t wait for me to move the potholder I was using under my soup bowl. This very nearly turned into a dual nap, but I’ve managed to resist. For now.

He did it again this morning, you guys. I don’t really know what to call this position, but I feel like it needs a name. Note the back feet pointing in opposite directions. Maybe the Jack Rabbit?

As I was cruising through the bedroom today, I had to turn around and get my phone to capture this. He was completely gone. And then he woke up as I was going for another angle, treating me to this look. I call that one “Sleeping Surly.”
