We bought a baby gate right after we arrived at the new house so we can keep the patio door open for air flow without the cats adventuring forth. It worked for a while.
Oscar is the main perpetrator of unsanctioned adventures, and he unfortunately figured out he can jump onto the gate. From there, he zips out the screen and snorfles around the yard. This gives me small heart attacks, so Brian developed a perfect solution: zip ties. The upgraded gate keeps our tiny adventurer in the house, so we get to enjoy both breezes and lack of heart attacks. As a bonus, it also reminds us of spiky orkish parapets.
